While many manufacturers seem to announce slight upgrades with minor design changes to their lines of devices, has Xiaomi opted to really go above and beyond with improving the Xiaomi Mix Fold launched last year. It is impressively thin at only 5.4mm when opened and 11.2mm when folded making it almost 30% thinner than the latest Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and thinner than many non-foldable flagship devices.

Powerful but power-savvy
Like most flagship Android devices in 2022, the Mix Fold 2 is equipped with the super powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8Gen1+ processor that offers plenty of speed with the 12GB of RAM that the phone has. The Mix Fold 2 has a 4500mah battery that can be charged full in just 40 minutes using the 67W quick charge. The battery life gets a boost from the Eco2 OLED technology of the main display that offers lower power consumption.
The main display of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is an 8.02” 1914 x 2160 px display with dynamic refresh rate between 1-120Hz depending on your use. The cover display is a 21:9 aspect ratio 6.56” AMOLED display also capable of 120Hz refresh rate. Both displays have a coating protecting them from scratches and damage.

Cameras co-developed with Leica
The earlier Xiaomi 12 S series introduced cameras developed together with Leica and the Mix Fold 2 is also equipped with Leica optics and SONY developed sensors for the main camera. The main sensor is a 50MP SONY IMX768 with optical image stabilization paired with a 13MP ultrawide camera and an 8MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. The selfie camera is housed on the cover display and has a 20MP sensor.
The Mix Fold 2 can really be called an upgrade as it improves on almost everything from its already impressive predecessor. If you are looking for a sleek, thin foldable device with great performance and a bright display, the Mix Fold 2 is a great choice for a phone.
